For those of you like me in Ohio . . . any thoughts on trying to influence our legislators as a group to offer an EV tax credit like other states? In Ohio, not only do we not have an EV credit, but now the registration fee for Hybrids is $100 a year (vs. about $50 for ICE cars) and $200 a year for EV's and Plug in Hybrids. They did this when they raised the gasoline tax to make sure EV drivers pay their "fair" share in maintaining Ohio roads (in one sense I don't have a real issue with that). So in Ohio, rather than getting an incentive to buy an EV, no tax break, and higher registration fees. Our legislature would give a bad name to Neanderthals sometimes.

So, if anyone would like to get together to try to influence some legislators as a group, I would be willing to try and put something together. I am a school board member, and I am used to having to lobby these people - not always or even close to successfully, but it is worth a shot I think.
