Active grill shutter missing

Hello all,

Now that winter is over and I have my Mach-e out to clean and polish I noticed one of the shutters on my active grill is missing. I didn’t think much of it and figured I could easily replace it.
Now, with the temperature rising I have noticed that my air conditioning is not cooling so I brought it in to my dealership. They are telling me that it’s likely because of that missing shutter and that it won’t be covered by warranty.
It appears from search this club and other Mach-e forums that this is very expensive to repair and many have said it is covered.
So, I have two questions for you that I hope you can help with. First, does it make sense that this would cause my A/C issues? Second, does anyone know if this should be covered? (We have not had an accident and do not recall hitting anything)

Thanks in advance!

I'm headed to the dealership this morning to get a replacement on the electronic parking brake sensors that the dealer stated Ford put out on a service bulletin in April (never saw it). I was on the other forum and apparently there are ways of replacing just one shutter. In fact, a contributor that does aftermarket products for the MMe posted a file for the shutters to be copied on a 3D printer.

That's great, now we all have to buy a 3-d printer to we can make our own parts. 😀 Seriously, it's great that people with the know how are sharing this information.

Under the heading of "gotta love dealerships", I get there and I'm informed that the appointment was to "bring it in" they'll be able to do the work on Tuesday. So I ask, "how about I bring it in on Tuesday"? "Sure, no problem, what time"?
PS: I gave my grandkids a 3D printer for Christmas, maybe it will pay off.

When making parts for auto applications you will want to use ABS. Although not toxic it does emit fumes and particles that can make you sick. Must be done in a well ventilated area or using a fume extraction system. The environment temperature must remain stable when printing or the layers will not bond properly. This can result in warped parts.

Thanks, I downloaded the file and it appears that the pictures are labeled right left when viewing from outside the vehicle
Looks like the aftermarket sees an opportunity to sell the whole assembly: https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-601-563-Radiator-Assembly-Compatible/dp/B0C1BT4FPB

I am not sure I would want to mess with installing something with so many plastics tabs, but might be worth it if the dealers are charging over $2k.
