I'm having an issue where, when using Google maps and wireless Apple CarPlay, my locations continue to get confused. The icon for the car jumps around to streets. It fixed itself when I plugged in the USB cable.

I've tried to restart the phone and car, this did stop for a while but has started again.

Yes it is horrible and I’ve seen this at least three to four times. It happens to us when we most need the directions…

I switched to Apple Maps for that reason. It's very well integrated into the Mach E & actually a great alternative. I was having the same Google Maps problem you described in the BMW I traded for the Mach E end on November, and then recently again in the Mach E.

The integration of Apple Maps is optimized for use with CarPlay - Google Maps is not as well integrated (you won't see turn-by-turn directions on the display by the steering wheel if using iPhone). It's different when using an Android phone. Google works fine and uses the small display by the steering wheel, but there is no integration for Apple Maps. I think the phone manufacturers have made their choices work better on their respective phones. I have both an iPhone and an Android, and both native experiences work extremely well.
