I'm having an issue where, when using Google maps and wireless Apple CarPlay, my locations continue to get confused. The icon for the car jumps around to streets. It fixed itself when I plugged in the USB cable.

I've tried to restart the phone and car, this did stop for a while but has started again.

That can only be a GPS phone issue. I am not sure why using the USB cable would fix it, other than it might have reset things.

I had this happen as well. My guess is that bluetooth adds GPS accuracy and when you connect to carplay wirelessly, this takes up the bluetooth channels and it makes the iphone GPS less accurate in certain situations... I find the further I am from reliable service or if I'm in a spot that may have a lot of interference (dense city streets with high rises) this is more of an issue.

I have had this happen to me using wireless car play and Apple maps. If I set the address at home it loses it's way. If I set the address away from home it seems to work fine. As a note, when using wireless car play and Apple maps in my wife's Buick it works just fine all the time so I do not think it is the phone.

I just posted something similar the other day about Waze having GPS issues. I'm not positive but I think it really only started with the last OTA software update. I think something in that update is messing with the GPS signal on the phone when we're in CarPlay mode. But I can't be sure... It's been extremely buggy for the past few weeks.

We never noticed the problem previously, maybe since we got a ‘23 in December it started.

I have had the same issue but have found that if you put your phone up on the dash or close to the windshield the problem goes away. I think it is the windshield.
