Blue Cruise on 2021 Mach-e

Did anyone with 2021 Mach-e get "Blue cruise" update?
Mine is from early 2021 (dealer had it in Apr 2021) and just recently got 1.7.1 via OTA. Called Ford and they were not helpful at all. Went to a local dealer and they said TSB 22-2117 (recommend by user @Richard L) was not applicable for my vehicle.

Wondering what's going on. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
TIA

My Blue Cruise was enabled via OTAs. I was an Early Access member. If you only recently updated to 1.7.1 wait and see if you get additional updates. Did the dealer say why your vehicle didn’t qualify? Ford has also authorized dealers to perform 21G01 which will install Blue Cruise if you don’t wish to wait.

All they said was "they plugged in their laptop and it said no updates available". They could not run the bulletin. Their comment is "my mach-e is up to date on updates".
I brought my MMe into the dealer this morning since the Ford OTA team advised that all my settings were ok, but they had no idea on why I was still at 2.3.0 since 15 Feb. and had not received the most recent updates via OTA. My build was 12/2020 and I am an 'early adopter' on Blue Cruise. When I reserved back in 2019 the idea that like the two Tesla's in my family, the MMe would be upgradable via OTA updates was a major selling point and I was really excited about the prospect. Between recalls, calibrations and dealer required updates, my MMe has been back to the dealer seven times in 14 months. Fortunately, I only live eight miles away and with the current visit aside I have always received a loaner. As a vehicle I love the Mach E as a software platform it's the "pits", Ford has a long way to go as a cutting-edge company in EV technology.

My vehicle is the same build date as you Bob.

2.3.0 is the newest OTA if you are not in Early Access. They haven’t started to deploy BlueCruise via OTA to the rest of the fleet yet.

You can have it installed at the dealer if you don’t want to wait. 21G01, I think.

I did that and it took two trips, but I did it the moment it was announced. It turned out there were some issues with the process (required a new version of FDRS to be released) but by now I would think it’s sorted. I’ve had BlueCruise for two weeks now.

The CEO spoke to The Verge recently for the Lightning introduction and admitted the BlueCruise rollout did not go as planned at all.

Does your car have the Ford CO-PILOT360 ACTIVE2.0 Prep package? I paid extra for that on my Select SR AWD last year. This was required to get Blue Cruise. My final update downloaded last week and BlueCruise just started working when I hit the cruise button. I'm not sure I like it any better than intelligent cruise.

Yes the car sticker says I do have the Ford CO-PILOT360 ACTIVE2.0 prep package.

Have you used Blue cruise on a highway? What was your experience? I am curious to understand why you did not see value.

Ford was nice enough to rename everything Bluecruise. So what used to be standard intelligent cruise control is now also called Bluecruise I think. The good one is “hands-free”. If you didn’t get a very obvious message saying you could take your hands off the steering wheel, then you’re not done getting updates.
I just received a call from my dealer saying the updates are finished so I'll be picking up the MMe in the AM. I've been giving some thought to BlueCruise vs Adaptive/Intelligent Cruise. In my case I'm not certain that it will make much of a difference in how I drive because other than having my hands free to pull the cork on a bottle of Dry Reisling or an unoaked Chardonnay my hands will still be on the wheel.
The minimum highway speeds in my area are 65 mph and up to 80 mph. At 65, the vehicle is travelling at 95.3 ft. per sec. with a 'perception reaction distance' of 143 ft. this increases to 117 ft. per sec. and a 'PRD' of 176 ft @ 80 mph. Keeping in mind that those numbers are with your hands on the steering wheel. Even if one is intensely focused on the road having to drop the corkscrew and maybe spill a nice vino will increase the distance travelled to avoid a hazard. BlueCruise may turn out to be a nice thing to have for those special occasions but for me the 'jury's still out'. "Just saying "

My interest in BlueCruise is mostly curiosity/novelty.

I bought the Mach-E because I enjoy driving a car. If I were interested in a “mobility solution” I’d take public transport.
I really do not want to trust my life to software. I have never owned a computer that at some point did not need a reboot. I hope the software engineers who designed the BC are not the same ones who designed the system to keep the 12v battery charged from the HVB. So I will take my year of subscription of Blue Cruise, try it out, show off to my friends, and then rarely use it again. Still holding at sw version 2.3.0 since Jan 30th.

I just picked up the MMe from the dealer and listed on my paperwork are the following items:
Update 21G01 BlueCruise module programing
Reprogram up to eight Vehicle modules to enable BC with FDRS per technical information.
APIM fails to update and TSB 22-2117 is utilized
IPC module fails to update over USB following FDRS prompts and flashing via DLC
Allowance to test drive BlueCruise in a hands-free Blue zone prequalified divided highway

Ok so I I notice that there are changes in the various displays and when I activate the 'Cruise' button I got a 'BlueCruise activated notice. However, I still get the hands on the wheel notice if I go hands free as well as the wheel and hands icon below the blue "bubble". I also don't see the icon for the additional game(s) that @bentheEVguy posted. FordPass now at 4.14.0 but shows FordGo ver. still at 2.3.0 with a Feb 15 update. I'm going to take it for a drive tomorrow and see what gives on the hands free. When I tried the 'systems update' on the main screen it says (like always) system up to date and the manual update 'button' is grey. TBC tomorrow
EDIT: The screen icon for the front boot is now illuminated but still non-functional,

We just picked up our MachE after it's 1 year service, and software upgrade. As I mentioned in another thread, the software upgrade took 15hours with the technician, and our service rep said that the dealership isn't going to do any more of those until Ford comes up with a better method. Sounds like we are a ways from being able to do major upgrades OTA.
A couple observations:
First, as I have mentioned before, I see no way in the car of determining what version of the software is installed on my car. I think that is unsat, and I hope Ford provides us a way to determine that. (if anyone knows how, please let me know) You mention that you were able to see version of FordGo, is that the car's operating system, and where are you able to see that? I am also running 4.14.0 in the app, but don't see any FordGo information.
Second, we now have "blue cruise", but there wasn't an obvious change that indicated that to us, until we were able to engage it on a "included" area of divided highway. I don't think there is a display anywhere which shows us the sections of road where blue cruise is available, so you just have to try it out and see. That may be why you are not getting the hands free option. I think it would be helpful to have a symbol somewhere that indicates whether you are in a "blue cruise" section of road.
Third, although we do have operational blue cruise, we have no button for the frunk.

I no longer know which version has been installed since FordPass still shows 2.3.0 OTA on 15 Feb. I definitely do not have BC however after speaking with the OTA team at Ford the dealer has to enter the update into Ford's system. Checking the section 'managing services' does not show that BC has been activated and there is no info on the 'trial year'. As to the front boot, the icon on the main screen is no longer greyed out but it still is inoperable. It's my understanding that when BC is operating the small screen goes from the 'blue lined bubble' with the wheel and hands icon to a blued out screen.
I have definitely received some form of update since I now have different alerts on the mini screen. The paperwork indicates 21G01, TSB 22-2117 I will give the dealer another business day to see if something changes, if not it may be another dealer visit.

If you go into the map in Ford Pass, Blue Cruise roads are red.

Excellent, didn't know that. It's not entirely accurate as there is a section of I-15 here in Salt Lake City where it does't work currently, however that area was recently was redesigned, rerouting the exits, so perhaps it will catch up at some point.

Hi there. This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your Mach-E. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you with this Blue Cruise concern on my end.

This is regarding Ford Case CAS-36566149-H1Q8DS EMAIL TO MY DEALER, STILL NO BLUECRUISE OR REPLY

Paul,
I’ve driven the MMe over the past several days and it appears that Blue Cruise is not operational.

When I push the cruise button on the wheel, I receive a notice that Blue Cruise is on however it remains in the Intelligent/Adaptive mode with the ‘bubble’ and the wheel/hands icon. When I attempt to drive hands free, I receive the same warning to ‘place hands on wheel’ that was part of the previous iteration of cruise. I contacted Ford customer relations and they (like my Ford Pass) still show version 2.3.0 updated 15 Feb. on Ford Go.

When I go to the ‘Manage Services’ on FordPass it indicates that I do not have BlueCruise. I haven’t received any email from Ford indicating the one-year trial period has begun and Ford has informed me that the dealer must enter the update into the ‘system’.

The paperwork received from the cashier @ FF of LV indicated that Tech #563 test-drove the MMe Hands Free in a ‘Blue Zone’

Bottom line is I do not have hands free Blue Cruise

Please advise or give me a ring.

Thanks,

Bob
