For last couple days I have been getting the message on the car and FordPass app that "Ford Power-up Software Update for your 2021 Mach-E was unsuccessful". I did try to look through options but do not see any way for me to force the update.
IS there anything I can do to make the update successful? I have automatic update turned on with No schedule, so it can be done anytime and car is connected to Wifi when parked.
Go to software updates in Sync. Check for updates. If there’s a version it will show there. My version 1.6.0 disappeared after the failed attempt of 1.7.1.
I am taking my car to dealership tomorrow for an RFA module update recommended by Ford Tech Support and have asked them to update my software to 1.7.1 also. I will report what the Ford dealership is able to do and if it works. My car has been trying to do 1.7 update for a while now and says unsuccessful.
I'm in West Babylon. Nice to see another FE in Grabber Blue. Did you get both recalls in the Ford Pass app? I got both but only the panoramic glass roof shows when I run my VIN at the NHTSA recall website.
Update: I had my car at dealership for an RFA module update that Ford Guide suggested will help with PAAK performance. The Ford dealership had my car for 1 1/2 day and they claimed to update a number of modules. The technician came out and talk to me as this was one of the first Mach E he worked on. He said there is a lot of experiments going on this car and we are literally the guinea pig as firs adopters.
Good news, this morning I woke up to 1.7.1 update in the car. This update has failed a number of times on my car. Ford Tech told me that could be due to mis match in software versions in various modules in the car prior to his doing the updates. I have not noticed much different than ZERO isses with PAAK since the update.
The software version 1.7.01 update was unsuccessful in my car. Automatic updates will not turn on now nor can I set the car to update at a specific time. I have been in contact with the Ford Early Access Team and sent them screen shots and feedback through the Sync 4a screen. Today I was on the phone with a team member from the EA Team. She told me there is a software update team as well and they are looking into my car specifically to see if they can rectify my problem. There are many on the other forum who are having issues as well. For some, the software update installed without a hitch and others had success when the program tried to reinstall itself. I'm now trying to wait patiently for a solution.
Did you have to do anything specific to get it to update sucessfully? If so, what did you do? Was your car at your dealer to update any modules? Thanks for any help.
Voila! The 1.7.1 update magically appeared in a Ford Pas notification this morning advising me that i can now write and draw on the screen and play Tic Tac Toe.
Remote setup lets me use Ford Pass or the owner's site to set up profile preferences including all radio presets that will be stored in the 'cloud' and sent to the MMe vis SYNC 4A.
Also, Cloud connectivity combines conversational voice command recognition with internet based search. Apple Play compatibility displays on-screen turn-by-turn navigation in the instrument cluster. Finally user profile icons on Sirius/XM with 360L radio will be bigger and some "bug fixes".
It was just a matter of time. Glad it finally came through. You can also turn on the calm screen by pressing and holding the volume ring. Touch the screen to return to sync.
I also got 1.7.1, according to the car and ford pass, after two failures. But after two days, I do t see any new features. No notes. No directions on dash when using Apple Maps, and I don't see any remote profile setup options.
This is what I have found so far: Notes.
I don't have an iPhone so I can't check ApplePlay
I haven't been able to locate the Remote Profile setup
There doesn't appear to be any change to the Sirius/XM Icons
Maybe it does come in sections? Anyone have all of the items in 1.7.1?
I kind of think they should have a 24 tech support line, like computer software companies have. They can remotely log into your car and check on issues, remotely update etc
More important they need to be honest with their replies. I always feel they are trying to come up with a line to passify you and not to try and solve the problem. If they just put the same energy into trying to solve the problem instead of coming up with excuses maybe more problems would get resolved.
I love my MME but the issues are starting to wear me a little thin.
At last 🙂 I had kept the car disconnected from WiFi for a few days and connected it back 2 days ago. Then plugged in for charging today morning and left the charger connected. May be the car wants charger to be connected to start the update process.
I have a Select AWD SR, mine shows that I have 1.7.1 but I have none of the features. Are there any features from the update that the Select doesn’t get?
Today I received a reminder about the recall but it vaguely mentions few Winter software updates that the dealership can install. Anyone know if these are different from what we received via OTA ?
Yes, this is a different update and has to be done by Dealer, not OTA. I just made appointment here in Devner, CO; the dealership is still NOT able to do the recall work. But they are going to do 10k mile service and the software update. Car goes in next week, I will report what happens. I have the 1.7.1 update already.
This new SW update mentioned above 21P22 (search the threads ) will increase fast charging upto 90% instead of 80%.
