jsut bought one after using the ford portable evse that came with the car for past eighteen months (no problems with it btw). It's also a good idea to check with state tax boards and also utility company, I ordered my juicebox 40 thru ga power and got a $250 rebate.

Looks like I'm getting nothing on the charger install because of AMT :(
I think AMT applies to your calculated tax before tax credits. OK, so not giving financial advice but look at:
1) 6251 Line 9 = tentative minimum tax
2) 6251 Line 10 = 1040 Line 16 + Sch 2 Line 2 (if applicable) - Sch 3 Line 1 (Foreign Tax Credit). [+ some other stuff that may not relate to you.]
These are the values that are compared and 1040 Line 16 is the Tax calculation before Sch 3 credits (1040 Line 20).

And, if still paying AMT, then you might be able to recapture the difference in next years return.

Oh, and form 8911 instructions are confusing as they suggest you might not be eligible for 2022.
