Front Camera Fault-Service Required/Pre-Collision Assist not Available (Five times in shop!)

Has anyone else had this issue? It also means that adaptive lane control and blue cruise suddenly stop working.

Mine has now been in the shop FIVE times to fix it. They've replaced the front camera, the driver camera (that sees if your eyes are on the road) and made various software upgrades. Sometimes, due to Ford Corp's service being down, they've had to keep it two days.

I love my car, but this is getting ridiculous. Has anyone else had this problem and actually gotten it fixed?

Thanks.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Mach-E concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
Seems that the ability of Ford dealer technicians and/or FoMoCo to diagnois the fix of many EV problems is lacking. I sure hope this improves soon or it will have a negative impact on future EV sales.

My Dealership in North Bay Ford in Santa Cruz, CA. Adding to my frustration is their lack of responses. I called them a week ago and even sent the service rep "links" to various forums to search for possible problems. No call back from them so I called yesterday at 1pm and left another message for the Service Rep, Wayne Lovely. Their service is not very good and they are grasping at straws (in my opinion). My VIN is 3FMTK2R74MMA09186.

While you're at it, can you look into the "escalation" that Ford Corp has said they have done twice on my gift of the triple warranty. I got the warranty on 11/30/22 but can't use it as Safeguard doesn't have me in their system. I've made 3 calls to corp. In my last call Your rep told me on 1/31 that she would call me back on 2/1 or 2/2. (The last rep never called me back.)

I love my car, and hope you can help with both issues that are very frustrating.
I too have that problem. Nearly every time i use the car I get the error messages and have to press the OK button to clear.

When Ford requests you send a message do the following. Go to the original message and click on the Ford logo. Their profile box will open. At the bottom of the box click message.

Note that someone else on the thread told me to click on the Ford thread to send them a private message. So I've done that as well. You probably could, too.

Thanks, I had no idea of how to do that.
I think it's increased since the last software update and hopefully @Ford Motor Company sends out another update that stops that message from showing up.

Yeah. I get it all the time. It doesn’t last for more than a minute so can’t show the dealership while it is “on”.

My car is currently in the shop for the same error. I Have had one main module IPM-B changed in December, with out correction.and now they are trying another main module IPM-A. Still in shop awaiting delivery of parts. Hopefully this will fix it.

This error started out intermittent months ago, it then easily corrected, but in time we could not clear the error. and if for some reason it did clear, it went on and off to were you turned off the safety system.

Yes, but the camera not working means that pre-collision assist is not functional, and, sometimes, it also tells me that "lane keeping assist" and "bluecruise" don't work as a result of the camera faults.

I know that my dealer has done some things, but they are not well documented. In looking up what the IPM-B and -A are, I found that there is a recall our on the IPM-A. Here it is if you want to share it with your dealer.
Hello All. Sadly, I am and have been having this same issue since I got my Mach E in June 2021. Ironically, it has been at the shop (2 different dealerships) for more cumulative hours than I have driven it. At first I thought it was related to bumps in the road, as it seemed to kick off my cruise when I would hit a bump, especially a bridge seam. However, I then noticed it would kick off on smooth surfaces too. The dealer thought that since the windshield wasn't installed with the proper amount of adhesive, that maybe the windshield was loose and vibrating the camera out of alignment. Nope, wasn't the problem. I have no idea what has or has not been replaced, as my invoices just state "electrical issues" or something else generic. And my service advisor, well, he's not the mechanic that worked on it, so he has no clue. It has now gotten to the point that every time I turn it on now, that's the first thing that comes up; "Front camera fault Service required" followed by"pre-collision Assist not available". I really would have thought that in nearly 2 years, some engineer at Ford would have found a fix. Is that really the case? Has nobody on this forum had a successful repair of this issue?

When that alert comes on it usually goes away less than a minute later.
That used to be the case until recently. When it happened while I was driving, it would take about 3 minutes or less to reset itself to the point I could use cruise. Now, every time I turn it on, that's the first message I get and even after an hour of driving, it will no longer reset and can not engage any type of cruise control, and all my indicators on the dash remain yellow. I was able to deal with the intermittent inconvenience, but now, I am afraid to take it back to the dealer unless there is a known fix. Just yesterday, I finally got reimbursed by Ford for my rental from May 2022, and it came as a prepaid Mastercard. With all the issues and time required for these vehicles to be at dealerships, you would think Ford would set up a direct bill account with rental car agencies. Then reimburse the owners for the monthly payment they've made on a vehicle they can't use!
I should clarify, all the indicators on the dash, that have to do with cruise/ lane keeping/distance, etc, remain yellow.

I don't know if yours is the same situation I had, but EVERYTIME I drove my Mach-e, after about a mile or two, I got an error message about the front camera not working. Either, "Front Camera Fault Service Required" or "Front Camera Low visibility Clean screen"

Turns out, it was all caused by a decal across the top of my windshield about "FORD SPORTS" that the dealer had applied before I bought the car. Apparently it interfered with the camera's "view". They removed it and all was better.

Wish that were my issue! Now it's been in 6 times and it's still not fixed. They say they are talking to Ford engineers who have now suggested yet another part replacement. Big sigh.
I mentioned I'd recently had my car in for service. One of the issues was the camera not available and pre-collision message. They didn't do anything about it. Said the large software update (three day) would probably fix it, but that it was not being installed at this time.
