Frunk Button Access

I never use the frunk because its not easy to open and I actually forget it's there.

I love the Frunk and keep my charger, emergency items and some misc. stuff for the dogs and road trips. The cooler thing is a fun and clever marketing thing, but probably seldom used for that.

What Frunk?

I love the keypad access to the frunk. I use the keypad access more than my phone just because I don't like pulling out my phone and waiting for it to connect via bluetooth.

Thanks for mentioning that. It flat out didn't occur to me to put rarely used items in the frunk. I've been using it only for unsavory items such as gym clothes. Now I think I'll move the tire repair kit to the frunk to make room for my laptop computer under the floor.

After I set up phone-as-a-key I got a frunk button in FordPass. I have no idea what generation mine is, other than it's a 2021 RWD Premium.

I sometimes use it for my groceries in the winter to keep stuff cold while running other errands after going to the store.

If you don't see it in the Ford pass app then you may have a Job 1 build.

I have a 2021 Job 1. My dealer installed the BCM update last year, and that enabled the frunk. No button in FordPass but the keypad on the doorpost works, and the button inside the frunk works although I don't know why/how you could use that (and it posts a warning on the screen if you do hit it).
Then I enabled the frunk button in the control screen using FORscan.
So all I'm missing is the FordPass button, which would be the most useful method!

And if you see anyone say that 2021 Job 1 cars don't have the hardware, they are wrong. All cars have the hardware - it's the same mechanism required to pop the frunk in an emergency (if the 12V battery fails).

There is a row of 5 buttons below the Unlock/Start/Lock buttons and a label that says "Bluetooth connected/disconnected". I can raise and lower the window, open the frunk and trunk, and it looks like flash the lights and horn. Again, this is with Phone-as-a-key set up. I didn't have this until I set that up.

2021 Job 1 cars don't have the 5th button for the frunk, unfortunately.
