Frunk Button Access

Soooo.....is it safe to say that Job 1 MMEs won't get access to a frunk button in the Fordpass app?

There is a row of 5 buttons below the Unlock/Start/Lock buttons and a label that says "Bluetooth connected/disconnected". I can raise and lower the window, open the frunk and trunk, and it looks like flash the lights and horn. Again, this is with Phone-as-a-key set up. I didn't have this until I set that up.
I have set up phone as a key three times and it always disappears.
Have any of you experienced the same problem.
I would love to be able to use it to open the frunk.
I currently never use the frunk but I would like to store some seldom used items in it.
I have a 2021 Job 1. My dealer installed the BCM update last year, and that enabled the frunk. No button in FordPass but the keypad on the doorpost works, and the button inside the frunk works although I don't know why/how you could use that (and it posts a warning on the screen if you do hit it).
Then I enabled the frunk button in the control screen using FORscan.
So all I'm missing is the FordPass button, which would be the most useful method!

I use the frunk for takeout food :)

And if you see anyone say that 2021 Job 1 cars don't have the hardware, they are wrong. All cars have the hardware - it's the same mechanism required to pop the frunk in an emergency (if the 12V battery fails).
I know the internal button on my frunk works, like mentioned i hit it and i get a warning on the dash. Do you know if the hack (enter code 7/8) works if the 12 volt is dead? I would like to keep my portable jumper in the frunk in an emergency.

How do I do this?
there are a set of codes i believe.

code + 3-4 unlocks all doors
code + 5-6 unlocks the trunk
code + 7-8 unlocks the frunk

I THINK. I recall seeing something like that from somewhere but I can't find it. I just use the frunk unlock. my girlfriend has to wait for me to open my door before she can open her door :p

Enter code, then 7/8.
thanks for the help, rick!

First, it is not a hack. That's how it operates.

Second, if you think about your question regarding 12v dead, you'd see how impossible that would be.

I planned on using the frunk to store my portable jumper. I figured that my fob would still open the car and I could use the handle in the car to open the frunk.
Now you have me wondering if the fob will open the door if the battery is dead.

When the battery is dead, nothing on the car will work. If your doors are closed, you are locked out. If you open the door from the inside, and close it, you are locked out. If you are in the car, you can open the door and pull the frunk handle twice to open it.

The best place for your jump pack is with you. Get out of car, bring it. Store it in your garage. In your frunk it will almost guarantee that when you need it you won't be able to get it.

The jump pack, assuming you have it with you, will allow you to pop the bumper access plate and use the 2 leads to open the frunk to access the battery. If this is news to you, time to sit down and read the manual. PDF at owner.Ford.com.
I sometimes use it for my groceries in the winter to keep stuff cold while running other errands after going to the store.
Now that is a HANDY HACK! Thx @JeffGo
That works, passcode then 7/8 on door key pad.
Does any Job 1 have the Frunk button on the display screen or on the PAAK? I wish they would put both the Frunk and Trunk button on the main screen.

Why do you say it is impossible? Since the 12 volt battery drives most of the electrical system, would the keypad still operate is a legitimate question?

Thank you. Although the manual is available in the car, I doubt if it has been updated since 2021.
I checked Ford.com and it only discusses what you can do if the doors are UNLOCKED.
It appears you are right that you are out of luck if the charger is inside the car.

As you state, the 12v battery drives the system. If it's dead, the keypad is dead.

You can access the manual at owner.ford.com in PDF form, download to your phones, tablets, and computers. The in car manual is supposed to be updated at times.

Even if your doors were unlocked, the actuator is electric. You will not be able to open them if the battery is dead.

If you ever have issues while driving, like at a charger, and suspect the battery is dying, immediately open the window so you can open the door from the outside by reaching in and pulling the handle, as the internal handle is mechanical, not electric. Then you can open the frunk with the manual release. But if the window is closed and you close the door after exiting, you're SOL.
Bad design. I think they thought the 12v battery dying was a very remote possibility. Darren Palmer of Ford said as much in one of his speeches early on in the debut of the Mach E. They needed to provide somewhere like the rear hatch with a mechanical key unlock. I hope a rethink this design when they do a major update. Who carries a portable powerpack with them? If you are in a remote area you may not have people with 12v batteries nearby to jump the frunk.

Exactly, why is it impossible, why couldn't the switch be hooked up to the main battery. if Ford was smart they would link up, THE EMERGENCY SWITCH INSIDE THE FRUNK, to the main battery, especially because the 12V battery going dead is an issue in many EV's. Remember it is an EMERGENCY switch to stop a child from dying, doesnt do much good to hook up to the 12V, but of course, some people are simple minded and can't think past the simple , non workable solution. Even for emergency situations.

Well, 400 volts from the main battery through your body has a likely chance of killing you! All Ford would have needed to do is provide an emergency key lock to the frunk where you would store your 12 v battery pack jumper; then you can power the door locks. You start the car and the main battery should finish charging the 12 v battery. You can decide where you would safely keep your emergency key.

My Job 1 has the Frunk button on the control screen. I enabled it using FORscan. Nothing yet on the FordPass app.

Thank you for reposting this. I had tried that the other day, but I was pushing the seven and eight together as you do to lock. But, you just do the code and immediately the seven, then the eight. Voila!:)

I just press and hold the 7/8 button for a second or two.
