Here's some additional info for those of you who may have questions. This is from an interview with a Ford marketing exec.

Q. What exactly do the reservations represent? Do reservation holders get some priority or "lock in" for orders?
A: Yes, reservations lock in your place in line. Based on reservation number. These people will be contacted (soon?) to build their specific model. At that time, anyone who has pre-ordered a trim can select a different one (except the First Edition versions as they are sold out). Jason also said that more options than originally stated would be available to add on at that time!

Q: How will the ordering process will work?

A: We’re not far away from that time when we’ll communicate to all our customers that have reservations that it’s time to take action, to confirm your specifications. When we took a reservation we don’t allow any changes to the reservation, but when we open up the order bank and turn those reservations into orders, customers will have the opportunity to change their specs if they like: Color, RWD to AWD, Battery pack, etc.
When reservation gets turned into an order, Ford refunds the deposit. If the dealer that the order is booked with requires a deposit, that will be up to them.

This was planned before the extension of plant closures right. Do you think the timeline will now be affected because of the crisis?

It doesn't have to.
I mean, it's just taking order info. It's basically just all paperwork.

I suspect actual deliveries will be pushed back. But at this point the delay is only a week or two. That's not big. And considering we never really knew when actual deliveries are.... we might never really know the difference.

By changing the reservation to an order then it should be a contract, right? I would like to try it before to sing (road trip and check the applications).

Yes, once the reservation becomes an order then it's an actual contract you sign. When you do that Ford corporate refunds your pre-reservation deposit and it's up to the dealers if they want you to give a new deposit (I suspect they all will) and how much it is.

OK I am not ready to put $60,000 on the table without trying what I will purchase!!!! I am confident about the battery and the performance, my concern is about the Eco-Pilot 360!

The handsfree driving will not be available at initial launch, at least according to several interviews I've seen with Darren Palmer. Per him it will be an OTA update "shortly" after release because they want to put it through rigorous testing first. Presumably they want to test it on a larger number of cars than they have prototypes, and in varying conditions.

With a dashboard like this, the voice recognition is very important to change the setting during the travel! I am not a recent owner of Ford so I don't know how well are their system!
