New etiquette developing for charging electric vehicles

With electric vehicles becoming more popular, new do's and don'ts are developing for how to charge your car. Wall Street Journal travel reporter Allison Pohle joins CBS News to discuss her findings and how you can be a friendly fellow EV driver.

Thanks for that. Not just EV owners need to learn etiquette, er i mean, common sense and courtesy, but also ice drivers. While on a roadtrip this past weekend, i experienced 2, not one, ice cars blocking 2 of 4 charging parking spaces in front on the hotel!! Fortunately the charge cables were long enough to reach across 3 spaces. The bmw ice suv left early morning and avoided some angry ev owner keying or spilling oxidizer on it.

This past weekend i was on a road trip, and i was at 150kw charger, 350kw was free i left open in case a car that can use the higher speed came up. An ev pulled up that was chadmo, and my charger was the only with a chadmo connection. She tried to charge her car next to mine but i informed only one car can charge at station (even with 2 cables). I said i would move to the 350 as long as it worked, i moved over and was charging fine and she was able to use the chadmo. All worked out.

Yesterday Farley and Musk made nice and announced a joint effort to let Ford share Teslas charging stations in 2024. In 2025, Ford may adopt Tesla's charging protocols. STAY TUNED.
