Me: I bought this car from you 10 months ago and I love it, but it won't accept updates and I'm going on a long road trip soon. Can you help?
Dealer (2-days later): You're right, it doesn't accept updates. You might want to pick up the car if you're going on a trip soon. We're too busy to tear it apart and diagnose.
Me: Can I set an appointment to fix it?
Dealer: Might want to come back in late April?
Me: Is that an appointment?
Dealer: Not really, maybe we won't be as busy by then. It's not an appointment until we diagnose what's wrong with it. We might need to order a part or something.
Me: If I bring it back late April, are we talking about a week or a month?
Dealer: Don't really know. We're just so busy, and our shop foreman is the only one who works on these. Depends on his workload.

That is brutal customer service. Sorry to hear that @Ramcharger. When did you first notice that it wasn't accepting updates?

@Ramcharger are there other Ford dealerships nearby that you can go to? It might just be a matter of trying a few others to, all dealers operate differently and some might have more people trained to work on the Mach-E.
Possibly, but this is one of the larger Ford dealerships in the area and the place I purchased the vehicle so I wanted to give them first crack at it. Will probably shop around if it doesn't work out next time.

I've had the car since May 2021 and noticed fairly early on that nothing was coming through. I thought it might take time based on other forums to receive the push. The closest it got was in November when I got a notification that the push was coming through. The next morning I was able to confirm that nothing had changed. I have tried toggling back and forth between scheduled and automatic. Turned the Wifi on and off, but seem to have a fine connection at home. At least the dealership was able to confirm it wasn't user error on my part. I'm curious if anyone else had a complete inability to receive upgrades?

OK I have the same experience. The Ford Dealerships know Zilch about the EVs and they only are good for oil changes and charging to change a belt. They suck to the 1000%. I was told I have to get a patch to fix OTA updates, they kept it 2 days - gave a loaner, then said OK take home and updates will flow thru. Nothing.

I am stuck with v1.7.1 with failed update as there is not NOTES in apps hence v1.7.1 not fully updated. Range is shot, and now my patience is running out.

Escalated to Ford at twitter no one cares, escalated here - someone contacted me from Ford Support and they want my details - that are too much that dont even care with the case, just get me on a phone with an EV engineer and they can fix it.

There is so much baggage with Ford that if they do not fix this, sadly they wont be able to go much further.

@Ramcharger - There is no issue at your end, Ford sucks and sucks bigtime. They cannot fix the car ...

See my post above. The TSB applies to you.

Just called the dealer with the TSB 22-2117, and they cannot take me in before 20th April 2022. This whole saga started Jan 2022 and now they give me a date of 20-APR-2022. Don't know how I can butt my head with another dealer.

I been in the same stuck issue. I am having TSB-22-2117 performed on Wednesday March 30th I will let you know how it goes. I been stuck on Powerup 1.7.1 since beginning of Oct.
Where are you located if you don't mind? Just called another dealer and they said that I can drop of the car and takes 3-5 days for diagnosis. Well got an appt for 30th and as I have Ford Extended Warranty I can get rental reimbursement.

I am so much now inclined to open a shop to fix electrical gremlins on EV cars, that I want to learn this technology and give a faster service.

Wow! This seems very much like it might be the solution. I will send it directly to the dealer, as I'm not confident taking the interior door off myself.
To the experts some questions:

1. Does this procedure, bypass a failed part (UCS Hub) and once updated, does connecting back the way it was fix further issues.
2. Has anyone tried this on their own. I got the software from this link

Any update will be appreciated.

From my understanding the hub is not the issue. They are bypassing the hub and connecting directly to the APIM to streamline the procedure. Once the APIM is updated individual modules will update by Ethernet connection. I don’t do my own updates.

I took the car in today for the TSB 22-2117. I supplied the necessary cables and adapters as well as a printout of the update. Even with all this, the mechanic apparently had a hard time and had to call Ford for assistance. He was able to perform TSB 22-2117 after speaking with them. The interface looks slightly different now. The switch to do automatic updates reappeared and I can schedule updates now. He did the necessary updates to the APIM and TCU modules but didn't install all the missing OTA Startup updates that I am missing. Those will be "pushed" to my car in time.

I took STB 22-2117 text to my local dealer and asked if I could schedule the update. After reading the special tools section the service manager suggested I go to another dealer as they had little experience with the Mach E. I'm glad they were honest.

Here are some pics of the equipment I brought to my dealer yesterday so that they could complete TSB 22-2117. I bought these from Amazon and the price was around $29.

Even with all of this given to them the mechanic still had to contact Ford as he was having trouble doing the fix. He did get it done and my car was there from 7 am until 4:30 pm (they also fixed a seatbelt and did the 10,000 mile maintenance).

Screens now showing Sync Version and the OTA softer update switch works as does scheduling a time for doing the updates.

This really helps. Today I dropped my car off at the dealership, and the SA appreciated that I printed out all details of the TSB and what needs to be done (she said most people come in saying Needs Update, and the tech don't know what is to be done).

I also sent these above pictures just now in case they do not know what to get, as I am sure they won't have the cables. Offered that I can order for them.

Can you please print out your Amazon Order Page so we can all see what exactly you ordered.

Here is my writeup from the SA when they took in the car. Sad part they have a long line of other cars and they won't be able to look at it till Monday. Good I have Mach-E extended warranty and I will get a rental from them for up to 10 days @ $40/day.

Hope my results are as good as yours, will update

BTW - Which Power Up are you at (can you tell from anywhere?

I don't know which version of Powerup update I have as it is not listed when the dealer updates it.

Wow thanks for the effort. I added these in my Amazon shopping cart. Today went to the dealership and they said they are not sure they can ask me to order it. They said the car is slated to go into the shop Monday (4 days after I dropped with them), and we go from there.

I wish I never have a major issue or else I will be out of a car for weeks/months,

Ford Customer Service are sleeping. When an issue happens why can't they step in. I am sure they have a list of VINs where they can see OTA is failing. They can proactively call and get those cars fixed. Nope who cares after the car is sold.
