I have been driving my Mach e for over 4 months ago. A recurring issue although not a major problem is that the car doesn't seem to always recognize me as the driver. We have two keys. I am the main driver and my seat preferences and other preferences are associated with one of the keys. My son uses the other key when he parks the car in the garage.

After he does this when I drive the next morning, I often (although not always) find that the car doesn't recognize my key (and associated seat preference and profile identity) and insists on recognizing me as a guest. By the time I realize this while driving, it is too late to change it back. Sometimes even when I am still parked and recognize this and try to change to my profile and seat preference, the change doesn't happen and I typically resign myself to driving as guest with the less than ideal seating position.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Is there a way to fix these?

Other minor issues seem to have been fixed over time (probably via updates), for instance, heating/ac button issues.

Recently, quite mysteriously it seemed that my steering wheel wasn't getting warm to touch even when the heat option is on. That seems to be fixed now.

It appears that some of the technical issues/glitches are fixed remotely via updates, and I'm hoping that the recognition issues are fixed as well.

Do you leave the car locked and unlock it with your fob? Doing this might solve the issue.
Does he have a PAAK set up? If yes, then if his phone is within 40m, the car may still recognize his PAAK -- I have had this issue with my wife. Although, this is not likely the issue if the car is saying you are a guest. The guest thing has only happened to me once.

We are having these issues and both of us are set up with PAAK (supposedly) and it occurs even when we aren't both near the car. It seems like all these nice features to remember us is just a joke and waste. We've reset ours like 2 times because it forgets our into after updates sometimes. I can't keep resetting this thing over and over. :( HOw do we get this feedback to FORD?! And now the clock in the car isn't working properly...it seems to only move the time when the car is on. so if I park it for 3 hours and get back in the time is from 3 hours ago! so freaking weird.

Your car sure seems to have some strangeness; I haven't had the clock issues, but I did notice some of my preferred settings were forgotten after a recent software update. It's a bit of a hassle to go back and choose them all.

I have been having the guest profile issue for quite a while now. I have taken it to the dealer and they have an open ticket with the hotline to try to figure things out. It is taking quite a while. What is unacceptable is that when in guest profile, you cannot change it, while changes between any of the other 3 profiles we have set is possible. Does anyone know the conditions or inputs required for the guest profile to take priority? We always have either PAAK or an assigned key fob to operate, we never use the fob to lock or unlock or start the vehicle. It is particularly frustrating due to the fact that my wife and I as the 2 main drivers have very different driving mode preferences and the guest profile settings have to be changed depending on who drove the last time while stuck in guest mode.

I have found that I cannot change from guest profile while I am driving (or stopped at a stop sign). But when I am parked at my driveway, if I notice that guest profile is on, I have occasionally been able to change it to my profile. It's hit or miss and I'm not sure why it works sometimes and not other times. I think the car gets confused when drivers are switching often. I would sometimes have my son park the car in the garage with the second fob. The next morning the car doesn't want to recognize me. The way I'm addressing this is by minimizing the use of car by a second person other than myself.

I would spend some time in your car with one fob and go through all of the settings and change them to ones that you desire. (The other fob should be out of range.)
Then do the same with the other fob. (The initial fob should be out of range,)
Make sure both fobs are recognizable, so you can't pick up the wrong one.
Some updates may change a setting, but that's recognizable and an easy fix.
The clock running only when you're in the car is strange. Look at all the clock settings and if they are correct, then that is a dealer problem.

I have been having the same Guest profile issue. I have PAAK set up but my wife does not, she always uses her FOB. Periodically, after my wife has driven the car and I then drive it, it will be stuck in the Guest profile and cannot be changed when the car is stopped and in park. Interestingly though, when this occurs, I can select my wife’s profile and the seat and mirrors will move to her setting, but the profile remains as Guest and the other selectable functions (i.e. one pedal drive, drive mode, etc.) all remain as set in the Guest profile. If I select my profile, the seats and mirrors will move to my position but the car still remains in the Guest profile. Miraculously, after several start/stop cycles it will once again recognize me and change to my profile. This has become quite a hassle and even poses a safety issue when I expect the car to be in one pedal drive and suddenly discover it is not when approaching an intersection or stopped cars and I lift off the gas pedal only to find the vehicle not slowing.

YES!!! I hate this issue. It's a total pain in the ass. I have my FOB and my PAAK, programmed to me and I am the only profile setup (other than the ubiquitous Guest). It annoys me to no end. Half the time I get in the car and my profile is there just like when I left. The other half of the time, it resets to some unknown profile (with the ... in the icon area). What is even worse is that if you program the 3rd memory seat to a different setting, it will also shift to that memory setting before you get in the car! I really hate this small issue, because my radio settings are all gone and my seat is way back and reclined (my waiting/resting setup). I called @Ford Motor Company to talk to them and the tech support recommended restarting SYNC. This didn't resolve the issue and it continues to be a really annoying bug. The seat issue can be avoided by not programming 3, or by making it the same as my 1 profile, but it still won't load the correct user profile. Someone at Ford please fix the glitch!!

Jinxed me! Today the profile came up as guest and I could not switch it back to my profile. Yes, I have my PAAK and FOB tied to my profile.
I could not find a way to change it -- tried (1) selecting my profile, (2) turning off/on personal profiles and then selecting my profile, (3) turning off car when parked at Starbucks and opening door to turn off display and then restarting, (4) selecting my wife's profile (which triggered the seat position, but did not select the profile), then my profile. No, it stubbornly stayed on guest. The answer is it will hopefully use my profile next time I drive. I just had to set guest to 1PD driving to mimic my profile. But, even on guest, it recognized my phone and started CarPlay automatically.
These minor annoyances just seem like something that shouldn't happen.

I have the same issue. As others have said it is not a big deal, but it is annoying. Seems very random when it happens and when it "fixes" itself. I only have 1 key FOB programed, and I do not use PAAK.
You really should have two fobs. When I bought my car they only came with one. I bought another one because I didn't trust phone-as-key.
Months later Ford refunded me for the cost of the key.

2021 owners that only got 1 fob get a 2nd fob free from the dealership now.
