Top Gear's Netherlands site published this new first ride review of the Mach-E GT.

(Translated to English)

We are all very curious about how the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT drives. Unfortunately, we still have to make do with Ford 's promise that everything is in order. At the brand's Go Electric Event in Rotterdam, we took a seat in the backseat of the fastest version of the Ford Mustang Mach-E for a tour of the city. No, we were not allowed to sit in the front due to the corona virus and the five feet. This is what struck us as rear passengers about Ford's new electric SUV.

WHERE ARE THE DOOR HANDLES?
The doors of the Ford Mustang Mach-E open with a normal key, but you can also open them via an app. And if your phone is empty? Then there is a combination lock on the driver's door. You open the door by pressing a round button, then you can open the door with a fixed handle. The rear doors don't even have a lever, just a button. When you press that, the door will pop open an inch so that you can pull it open at the edge. There is also a special catch on the inside. Handy (but not necessarily new) is that you can also open the front trunk remotely via the app. For example, a delivery person can place a package there, without having access to the entire car.

COULD YOU SIT IN THE BACK A BIT?
Yes of course. We were behind a driver of less than 1.70 meters, so we were 1.92 meters royally with us. We bet that we could have been behind ourselves without too much trouble. There is plenty of headroom. The bank is also fine and as far as we experienced that in the back, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has reasonably firm suspension but not uncomfortable. Do ask the driver to go over short thresholds. The whisper mode is nice for long journeys. Then the Mustang turns off all sounds, the throttle and brake response is reduced and the mood lighting switches to a soft color. That way you should be lulled to sleep.

AND FURTHER?
Ford rented a parking garage to demonstrate the sprint from 0 to 80 km / h in the bottom floor. We can in any case report that the car has enough to win the average sprint at the traffic light. The GT's 0-100 time would be 3.7 seconds. We also had a good view of the enormous 15.5-inch screen on the dashboard. Great is that there is a physical dial for the volume, but that the inside of the dial is a screen. Cars with real volume controls always have an advantage. We are curious about how it drives.

WHEN WILL THE FORD MUSTANG MACH-E GT COME TO THE NETHERLANDS?
It would normally arrive next month, but the factory in Mexico had to be locked for a while. The schedule is now February 2021 for the first copies. You have to join the queue at the back, because the counter in the Netherlands is already at 2,000 orders. The price of the fast Ford Mustang Mach-E GT is not known, but it is certain that it will cost more than 70,000 euros. The slower Mach-E is available from just over 58,000 euros.

I noticed that with a lot of articles, the lack of accuracy with the facts.

At first I thought it was to skew in favor of one vehicle or another, but I’ve come to realize that it is just laziness. And instead of going to the source they repeat the incorrect information out on the net.

So far we only have "reviews" from Ford: no one else has driven one.

I will be really interested in what independent drivers have to say about the MME.

I saw review video and i didnt see the frunk icon in the app screen.
The reviewer also mentioned that we can only open the frunk with the lever inside the car.
Since its a double pull to open i dont think this can be enabled by a software.
Can anyone confirm this.
Not like its a deal breaker but i would have loved a remote open ability for the frunk.

The Ford Mach E Quick Reference guide (14 pages) says opening the frunk from the app screen is not available in frunks with dividers. Then it goes on to say that the functionality can be changed in the future. I wonder what the issue is, regulations?

Its so odd, it makes little sense. my trunk has an internal release and a power open, why would the frunk be any different?

Apparently, there is a software issue causing less than 100% reliability of the entrapment release button that is within the front trunk. Once that issue is resolved and qualified by Ford's quality assurance people, the update can be pushed out and electronic opening can be enabled.

FMVSS requires enclosed spaces of a certain minimum size to include a way out, in case a toddler is entrapped.

You can reliably escape the trunk using its internal release. Especially if it is a mechanical release (e.g. a pull cord).

How would you enjoy seeing your front hood open while the car is driving down the road? Some safety issues need to be worked out with having it on the app or on the screen A mechanical release is possibly safer and that is how it works today. No different from all ICE cars.
