Just curious. watched this vid, and they mention the 12 v battery, I thought it had electronics that converted the main power to 12 volt for the accessories and such.

Buffer storage to prevent surges and voltage/current fluctuations.

The 12V battery runs all the same things it does on an ICE car. Both car's die when the 12V battery dies.

Correct, my Fusion PHEV had a defective 12v battery which died two days after I bought the car new. Absolutely nothing worked including the doors which had to be opened with a "prehistoric" metal slot key.
