Thanks, I may check that out. I wanted the Ford one because I had points to use and the cost was only $50 as a result. Hopefully the weather tech one is cheaper than the $150 or more that Ford charges.

 

Are you referring to the raised edge rubber floormat? If so, I purchased a used Mach-E, it has a well fitting floor protecter in the hatchback area and my only issue is it seem to be about a half inch to long. It does not interfear with anything.

 

Yes, the rubber version is what I'm referring to. I don't know how it can both be well-fitting and a half-inch too long. The one I got from the dealership was about the same amount too long, and it's stiff enough that it's prevented from laying flat on the floor in the trunk. It's not really usable if it doesn't lay flat.

 

I have a 2024 and the cargo tray is also too big for the application. I ordered this online directly from Ford.

 

The cargo tray I assume is meant to be used with the cargo deck in the 'low' position. If you take everything out you will see a sort of shelf on the walls for the cargo floor, if you put the floor in this lower position the Ford-branded mat will fit.

It is a pain to move around though.

 

Yes, that is the case. Most people don't realize there are two positions (including stupid dealers), and that in the top position the deck will break if any weight is put on it.

I had ordered these for my '22 MME and they fit perfectly. Not sure if they have a '23 version if the size is different.

Okay, @RavensRemix and @RickMachE I think nailed it here. I never knew there was a low position for the trunk deck, and clearly the dealership didn't either, because they came out and watched me try and insert the cargo tray and expressed just as much bewilderment as me when it didn't fit.

I haven't called the dealership back to see if they still have the tray I returned, but I may do that this week, and install it with the cargo deck in the low position. I'd probably rather use that anyway to avoid breaking the tabs supporting the upper position.

@James Crawford I'm guessing they don't even sell a separate 2023 version because it's the same one--they did the same for me.

 

The cargo mat came with my California Rte 1 Mach-E, and fit OK though a bit curled up at the ftont edge. i had no idea there was a second level to the floor of the cargo area. After reading your post, I just discovered an extra 3 to 4 inches of storage space - thank you.

 

I ordered a cargo tray to put on top of the carpeted hatchback floor for my 2023 Mach-E, and before I left the dealership with it, I just had a funny feeling, so I took it out of the box and tried fitting it into the trunk.

Lo and behold, it was bigger than the size of the floor area and didn't fit.

I took it back to the parts desk and they said that there wasn't actually a cargo tray available for the 2023 model so they ordered the 2021 version instead.

Has anyone else tried buying this accessory for the 2023 model or experienced this same problem? Any suggestions on where to get a rear cargo mat matching my floor mats?

I bought a WeatherTech mat for my 2021 and it fits fine. I also saved a the Trunkmate from my Prius that is a perfect fit for my trunk and invaluable for storing shopping bags, blankets, paper towels, etc.
Here is a picture. All the separators are removable but I leave one in so a shpping bag fits snugly.

It's more about overall coverage than anything else. For me, the OEM works well enough, but there's a small, vocal niche who believe iit's just too small out of the box 10.0.0.0.1.
