You can now decode the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on your 2021+ Mustang Mach-E & Mustang Coupe, or even generate a build sheet using this information from Ford

This VIN decoder for the Mustang Coupe confirms the fact that a new 2021 Mustang Mach 1 is on the way!

That's cool news about the Mach 1.

Looking at that data, it appears as though there's no more V6. Or is that already the case?
Its already the case.

With the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine producing power and torque (well, almost) like a V6, Ford has no reason to keep it. I even realized this from my own experience driving a 2.3-liter and was amazed at what it could do. So, the V6 wouldn't feel like enough of an upgrade.

Fascinating. These VIN decoders are going to be especially useful to reference years from now when looking at used Mach-E on a dealer lot. You could use this post to know exactly what you are looking at, and confirm that the used car is listed and described accurately. I wish this data was more widely available for other makes and models.

It would also be prudent for all new Mach-E owners to also double-check that their VIN reflects the spec they ordered!

Any thoughts on what it means by "Extended range battery, Limited Rear primary drive unit, Limited larger Secondary drive unit"? (Engine type "E") Sounds like it is a Mach E GT model. Maybe it could be the base GT and the same spec above it (Engine type "X") would be the GT Performance option?

Interesting point. My interpretation would be that it's saying there are two versions of AWD, one with a smaller front power unit and one with a larger front power unit.
I suspect the GT would use the larger front power unit.

From what I've heard, the GT and GT Performance will have the same power output, just different suspension tuning, tires, etc

Curious to know what the Sequential Vehicle Identifier actually tells me? If mine is say A04956 does that mean that my mach-e was the 4956th mach-e built or that it was the 4956th of my "car type" (Premium ER RWD). Doesn't really matter - just a fun fact.
