Numbers from the first half of 2021, just for fun:

  • Ford built 34,779 Mustang Mach-E as of June 30.
  • They are on track to build over 70k units this year (if the chip shortage doesn’t mess things up.)
  • The 21H1 sales report from end June, 2021 - Retail U.S. sales are 12,975.
  • Q2 MMe sales in Europe were 5300.
  • 21H1 Canada sales are 2115.
  • There are an estimated 4,000 FCTP that are becoming available through July/August.

From this, we can see at least 20,390 sales accounted for 21H1. Including FCTP, there were 14.4k MMe available worldwide end June.

From the majority of post's on here....Im becoming hesitant !
So many of the posts seem to be vehicles that wont start because oor leaving people stranded !

I went thru this with my Z06 Corvette.....and am not up to it again
I also realize this is a very small percentage of Mach e owners

I read a lot of posts on fb and both mach e forums. You have to be careful about reading "they're all having problems" because social media can kind of distort the image. That said, a lot of the earlier produced cars had software issues early on, which have been sorted with numerous updates, both ota and dealer visit installs. I can say, my 4/24 build I've had a bit over two months now hasn't had any issues, and also no updates from ford. While two months is certainly not a long period of time, in terms of most of the failure issues, it's significant because in most cases these issues reared their ugly head soon after buying.

BUT, no way I'd suggest what to do in this instance. My thought your car will be an even later build so will hopefully be even more refined, , but not four wheel transportation is worth the angst and anxiety. If you have to have EV you could certainly look at tesla, they have issues but perhaps less because the 3 has been around awhile.
I thoroughly enjoy my mach e, had I to do it over again, if I could afford I'd have bought a GT.

Thanks for the message !
I went and test drove a Tesla before I ordered my Mach e...... I was not at all impressed.......yes it was fast but the A/C quit during my test drive and the fit and finish was terrible.
Ill be a Mach e owner in about 4-5 months and hope the majority of issues have been worked out by then.

I believe the first 2022 models are going to come out of the production line on Dec 13

My GT just got pushed of production week of 12-6. Still says 2021 model. I mean are they even making those anymore? I was thinking as of 29th it was all 2022. It was originally 11/22 then 11/29 and now 12/6.

All the early dec 22s were pushed out of that date range too........ So they probably decided to assemble 21s a little longer

How long does it take after your ford.com page says “scheduled for production”?

When I reserved the car, it said 28+ week wait on the website for the make/model that I wanted. Wasn’t expecting it until May and really that’s a better time for me.

I'm starting this as a new thread as it contains a whole series of guesstimates you can use to see when your Mach E MIGHT be produced.

Let's assume they will keep the Cuautitlan plant going with continuous production from Mach E job #1 through the GTs. I'll also assume the 4000 dealer demos and specials are run at a slower rate before the start of job #1, that makes 46,000 units. From 26 October through the end of the year is 8 weeks. Three weeks off for Christmas through Three Kings Day means a restart 11 January. The next run is 12 weeks until Good Friday, 2 April. Another 2 week break and a restart 19 April gives us 15 weeks through the end of July. 35 weeks. That allows for US delivery of GTs in late summer. There may also need to be some downtime to reset the line before the start of the GTs.

That gives us an estimated average line production rate of 1300 cars per week, 260 per day. So realistically we are probably looking at between 1000-1500 cars per week or 200-300 per day.

Further assumptions (and lots of guesses):
~3,000 First Editions (Best estimates range from a low of 3,000 total to no more than 10% of the total. Final number depends on if non-converted FE reservations are opened up or if the only build the numbers left of those who initially reserved.
~30% GTs (based on https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2019/12/30/mustang-mach-e-first-edition-reservation-facts.html?cks=&emailid=Article Alert Ford)

In the US, let's assume 5% FE, 25% GT, 50% Premium, 15% Select, 5% CA Route 1
(based on one reservation and one order database)
In Europe let's assume 20% AWD, 60% RWD (based on reservation database and a guess of 20% GTs)

Total units:
20,000 US: 1,000 FEs, 5,000 GTs, 10,000 Premium, 3,000 Select, 1,000 CA Route 1
30,000 EU: 18,000 RWD, 6,000 AWD, 6,000 GTs

Working with these numbers:
Run 1 focuses on getting out as many US cars as possible
26 October-23 December 8 weeks 8,000-12,000 Mach Es

This will be 1,000 FEs, 5,000- Premiums, 1000-1,500 Selects, 500 CA Route 1

Run 2 focuses on getting out as many EU cars as possible
11 January-2 April 12 weeks 12,000-18,000 Mach Es

Run 3 gets out the rest of the Mach Es, including all GTs
19 April-30 July 15 weeks 15,000-22,500 Mach Es

That models out to:

You can compare your reservation numbers against these to get an idea of the run in which your Mach E MIGHT be produced. The latest reservation number is over 80,000.

Fire away with corrections to my math or your theories.
here is some simple math..... we ordered our AWD premium 2021 Mach E on February 12th, 2021.... fast forward to all the ford national customer service call, the dealership call, the marketing head quitters calls, no chip shortage email for our car, no "free money to assist with future charging... and today March 7th... we still have yet to receive our car.... its now been ETA shipping updated 5x and is physically sitting at a rail yard in Missouri... we live in Ohio.

A proud Ford family.... but we will never ever recommend this horrific Ford being experience to another human being.
